HYDERABAD, February 1: TPCC Chief Mahesh Kumar has condemned the Union Budget for 2025-26, alleging severe injustice to Telangana. He pointed out that the state has not received any special allocation, despite its significant contributions to the national economy.
Kumar highlighted that Telangana contributes ₹40,000 crore in GST to the Centre annually but sees no return in terms of funding or development. He criticised the Budget for favouring election-bound states like Bihar, while ignoring the needs of Telangana. He further accused the Union government of discriminating against the state simply because it is governed by Congress.
Kumar called for greater cooperation from the Centre in Telangana’s development, urging the government to recognise the state’s contributions and support its progress. He reiterated that the lack of a special allocation for Telangana in the Union Budget was a clear sign of bias and unfair treatment.
