Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress Political Affairs Committee (PAC) met on Tuesday at Gandhi Bhavan under TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud’s chairmanship to review preparations for the upcoming local elections.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, AICC secretary Viswanathan, CWC members Damodar Rajanarasimha and Vamshi Krishna, along with ministers and party leaders, were present.
According to party sources, the meeting focused on the party’s electoral strategy and ways to push government welfare schemes and development efforts into public discourse.
Addressing the gathering, TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud said the State was witnessing effective governance and that the party was working as per AICC guidelines. He added that the “Jai Bapu Jai Bhim” campaign and other organisation-building efforts initiated by AICC had received strong praise.
He urged leaders to intensify outreach at the village level to publicise development work and government schemes.
Separately, the Congress disciplinary committee held a session at Gandhi Bhavan earlier in the day, chaired by Mallu Ravi. AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan attended the meeting.
The committee reportedly discussed internal rifts in some districts ahead of the local elections. Disputes among Congress leaders in Warangal were also flagged, a matter already escalated to Meenakshi Natarajan’s attention.
