Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) has stepped up its organisational restructuring by appointing district-level in-charges aimed at strengthening its grassroots network. TPCC president Anumula Mahesh Kumar Goud announced the new responsibilities for senior leaders to improve party activities across districts.
A virtual meeting was held with these in-charges, attended by All India Congress Committee (AICC) in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan and TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud. Natarajan outlined the party’s strategy and directed leaders to get active immediately for stabilising the party. She confirmed that committees would soon be formed from the gram panchayat level up to the district level.
Earlier, vice presidents and general secretaries had been appointed on a parliamentary constituency basis. Now, in-charges have been named district-wise as follows:
Vemuri Chand Reddy, CWC member (Khammam)
Sampath Kumar, AICC secretary (Nalgonda)
A Lakshman Kumar, minister (Warangal)
Ponnam Prabhakar, minister (Medak)
Jaggareddy, TPCC vice president (Hyderabad)
Kasum Kumar, PAC member (Mahbubnagar)
Anil Yadav, Rajya Sabha MP (Adilabad)
A Diwakar, MLC (Karimnagar)
Azmatullah Hussaini, Wakf Board chairman (Nizamabad)
Shiva Sena Reddy, SAT chairman (Rangareddy)
Party leadership believes these appointments will boost the Congress network statewide and help position it strongly for the coming elections.
