Telangana BJP calls statewide protest on Wednesday over CM remarks

Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP called for a statewide protest on Wednesday to oppose Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for alleged remarks that, according to the party, insult Hindu Gods and hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community. Party officials said the comments angered leaders and supporters across the state.

State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao urged leaders, workers and citizens to participate in the demonstrations. He instructed the cadre to burn effigies of the Chief Minister in all districts. Later, he asked party workers to ensure that the protest programme reached every town and drew strong public backing.

Telangana BJP escalates protest plan

Hyderabad: Rao earlier posted on the X platform and accused the Congress of repeatedly mocking Hindus. He argued that Revanth Reddy’s comments continued what he described as the party’s “anti-Hindu mindset.” He claimed the Congress avoided questioning other communities’ traditions but targeted Hindus without hesitation.

The Telangana BJP said the statewide protest would register firm opposition to the Chief Minister’s remarks. Leaders added that the demonstrations were necessary to show public anger and reinforce the party’s stand on the issue.
