Telangana allocates ₹1000 crore for Osmania University development

Hyderabad: The state government approved ₹1000 crore for Osmania University development and issued official orders to release the funds. The decision fulfilled a promise made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who directed officials to ensure timely implementation. He visited the OU campus shortly after the announcement and attended the “Sarvam Siddham” meeting held near the Arts College Building.

Osmania University development receives major state funding

The government will use the funding to upgrade infrastructure and improve facilities across the university. Officials prepared a detailed project report based on inputs from students and faculty. During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed plans for hostel modernisation, new academic blocks and enhanced student amenities. Analysts said the ₹1000-crore allocation marked a significant step toward restoring the university’s historic stature.
