Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau officials caught a Madhapur Sub Inspector red-handed while he accepted a ₹50,000 bribe for extending an official favour.

The accused, Gandra Vinay, served as a Sub Inspector at Madhapur Police Station. ACB officials stepped in after a complainant reported a direct demand for illegal gratification.

Officials said the Sub Inspector demanded ₹50,000 to provide copies of a notice issued in Crime No. 2202/2025 at the police station. He also assured the complainant that he would avoid making any arrest in the case if the payment was made.

The complainant approached the ACB after facing repeated demands. After verifying the allegation, officials planned a trap to catch the officer during the transaction.
