Hyderabad: The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has alerted government employees and the public about fake calls made in the names of ACB officials. The bureau said some individuals were pretending to be ACB officers and demanding money from public servants to avoid action.
ACB officials found that the calls came from different mobile numbers. A complaint related to one such case was filed at Mill Colony Police Station in Warangal. Director General of ACB R.V. Reddy said the calls were fraudulent and urged employees not to respond or make payments.
ACB urges immediate reporting of fake calls
The ACB has asked employees and citizens to report such calls without delay. They can call the ACB Toll-Free number 1064 or approach the nearest police station.
Officials said the bureau is also available on social media. Citizens can contact ACB Telangana through WhatsApp (9440464106), Facebook (Telangana ACB), or X (formerly Twitter) @TelanganaACB.
The agency assured that it would keep the names of complainants confidential.
