Suresh Battini assumes charge as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax

Hyderabad: Suresh Battini assumed charge as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Wednesday, taking over the income tax leadership role for both states.

A 1991-batch Indian Revenue Service officer, Battini has handled key assignments in corporate and business assessments. He has also worked extensively in financial investigations, tax deduction at source and international taxation.

In addition, he gained administrative experience in human resources, finance, information technology and business analysis. His career also included leadership roles in financial investigations and top-level management functions.

Suresh Battini role expands to two states

Before this appointment, Suresh Battini served as Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Hyderabad, from September 2024 to April 2026. During that tenure, he headed the Income Tax administration for Andhra Pradesh.

Now, with the Suresh Battini elevation, he will oversee operations across both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This expanded role places him in charge of tax administration across the two Telugu states.

Officials said his experience across multiple domains would support efficient administration. His background in both technical and managerial functions is expected to strengthen institutional operations.
