Student’s sketch of DGP draws attention at summit zone

Hyderabad: An unexpected moment drew attention during DGP Shivadhar Reddy’s security inspection at the Global Summit zone on Tuesday. While reviewing arrangements at multiple points, the DGP paused near a cluster of stalls set up for visitors. A Fine Arts stall run by students from a Social Welfare Gurukul School caught his attention. At that moment, a Class 9 student, A. Bhagavender, recognised him and approached with confidence. He told the DGP he could sketch his portrait immediately and politely asked for permission.

Shivadhar Reddy agreed at once. The DGP then sat in front of the boy as the young artist began drawing. Bhagavender worked with steady focus and showed no hesitation despite the senior police officer sitting opposite him. Within minutes, he completed the portrait. The artwork impressed everyone present, and the DGP praised the student for his talent, discipline and composure.

Gurukul Fine Arts student earns praise during inspection visit

Bhagavender comes from Etem village in Nagar Kurnool district and is the son of Raju and Anita. He currently studies Fine Arts at the Social Welfare Gurukul School in Ghatkesar. Teachers at the stall said the boy trains regularly and participates in several art activities. His spontaneous decision to sketch the DGP added a lighter moment to the otherwise serious inspection. Officers accompanying the DGP said the incident highlighted the strong talent emerging from Gurukul institutions across the State.
