State level softball title won by Mahabubnagar in Mancherial

Hyderabad: The State-level district won the State level softball Under-19 girls title. They defeated Nizamabad by 3–2 in the final of the 69th state-level competition held in Mancherial district on Sunday.

The three-day state-level softball tournament was conducted at Mandamarri Adarsh School in Mancherial district. The final match saw a closely fought contest between the Mahabubnagar and Nizamabad teams, with Mahabubnagar securing a narrow victory.

Nizamabad finished the tournament as runner-up, while Warangal and Adilabad districts secured the third and fourth positions respectively, officials said.

The tournament concludes with prize distribution

Prizes were presented to the winning and participating teams by Mancherial Olympic Association Secretary Pinnanti Raghunath Reddy. Additionally, District Intermediate Education Officer Anjaiah and SGF Secretary Baburao distributed prizes.

Later, officials from various sports associations were felicitated during the closing ceremony. SGF Secretary Baburao said that players who displayed outstanding talent in the State level softball tournament would be selected for the state team.

He said the selected players would represent the state at the national-level softball competitions scheduled to be held in Nagpur in January. SGF Under-17 Secretary Yakub, Model School Principal Sara Taslima, Peddanna, and PETs attended the programme.
