Hyderabad: Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Friday announced a planned leadership transition in the Telangana Life Sciences sector, while commending Shakthi M. Nagappan for his key role in its national and global growth.
Nagappan, who currently serves as Director (Life Sciences) and CEO of the Telangana Life Sciences Foundation, had requested to step down to pursue entrepreneurial interests. Acknowledging his pivotal contributions, the Minister has asked him to remain in his role until March 2026 to ensure continuity and institutional stability.
After this period, Nagappan will continue in an honorary capacity as Advisor to the Minister, supporting strategic development in the sector.
Sarvesh Singh, recently appointed to the department, will collaborate with Nagappan during the transition period. He is set to take over as Director (Life Sciences) after March 2026, following a structured knowledge transfer process.
Sridhar Babu praised Nagappan for helping position Telangana as a global hub for life sciences innovation and engagement. He noted that the state would continue to benefit from Nagappan’s guidance even after his formal exit from the executive role.
