Hyderabad: Team India pacer Mohammad Siraj made a strong impact in domestic cricket, taking four wickets in Chhattisgarh’s first innings to give Hyderabad a commanding start in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group D match at Gymkhana Ground.
Siraj returned figures of 4 for 56, helping bundle out Chhattisgarh for 283 runs. Hyderabad responded strongly, reaching 56 without loss by stumps.

Siraj struck early by dismissing opener Anuj Tiwari for 4. He continued his spell with the wicket of Sanjeet Desai before removing the well-set Vikalp Tiwari, who scored 94 in a crucial stand with centurion Prateek Yadav (106). He completed his four-wicket haul by dismissing tailender Aditya Sarwate for 4.
Pacer CTL Rakshan also chipped in with 2 for 28. Despite the century by Yadav, Chhattisgarh failed to build momentum and lost wickets regularly.
Hyderabad openers ensured a steady reply, ending the day on a solid note without any damage to their innings.
