Hyderabad: Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP and party leader in the Upper House Milind Deora said the party would expand its organisation in Telangana and contest the upcoming elections.
Deora made the announcement while addressing a state-level meeting of key party workers in Hyderabad on Thursday.
The party would intensify its organisational activities across Telangana, he said. It would also prepare a specific action plan to address issues raised by people.
Deora said Shiv Sena would seek to replicate the “Maharashtra Model” in Telangana. For this purpose, leaders from Maharashtra would visit the State frequently.
They would work to strengthen the party at the grassroots level under the leadership of party chief Eknath Shinde, he said.
Deora also raised the demand to declare the cow as “Rajyamatha” or State Mother in Telangana. The party, he said, would continue its campaign on the issue.

Shiv Sena Telangana president Sinkaru Shivaji demanded that Hussain Sagar be renamed “Vinayak Sagar”. He said the party was ready to pursue a legal battle to secure the change.
He also demanded a complete ban on cow slaughter in Telangana. Further, Shivaji urged the State government to recognise the cow as the State animal.
Meanwhile, Deora said the party would strengthen its presence in Telangana ahead of the upcoming elections. The organisational expansion would focus on building the party from the grassroots level.
The state-level meeting brought key party workers together to discuss the organisation’s plans in Telangana.
