Shamshabad ginger garlic paste unit busted, 4 arrested

Hyderabad: The Commissioner’s Task Force and Pahadishareef Police busted a ginger garlic paste unit in Shamshabad and arrested four persons for allegedly manufacturing substandard food products that posed a serious risk to public health.

Acting on a tip-off, the Shamshabad Task Force team, along with local police, raided “SK Royal Enterprises” and “Shahi Gold Companies” at H. No. 11-48/1/A/1, Wadia Mustafa Nagar, Jalpally. During the operation, officials arrested Abdul Sattar, 45, Mohd Israil, 21, Mohd Iftekhar, 18, and Noor Nabi, 19. All the accused are residents of Jalpally, Balapur, Hyderabad.

Police said the accused used low-quality ingredients, synthetic food colours, and unhygienic methods to manufacture ginger garlic paste. They also ran the unit without a valid labour licence and ignored FSSAI guidelines. As a result, the products reached local shops and put consumers at risk.

Authorities seized adulterated ginger garlic paste and raw materials worth Rs. 10 lakh. The seized items included food colour boxes, citric acid powder, turmeric, and 340 kg of loose paste packed in 68 boxes. In addition, police recovered 12 loose tubs of 50 kg each, 20 bags of garlic weighing 25 kg each, and five 50 kg salt bags. They also seized brand labels, packing material, grinding and mixing machines, and a weighing machine used in production.

Case registered against the Shamshabad ginger garlic paste unit operators

Police registered a case in Cr. No. 90/2026 under Sections 318(4), 275, 223 read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Pahadishareef Police Station. Officials have launched a detailed investigation to trace the supply chain and identify other possible links.

The Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, appreciated the efforts of the Task Force Shamshabad team and Pahadishareef Police. Additional DCP Rajendranagar and Shamshabad Zones, Muhammad Iqbal Siddiqui, supervised the operation.

Meanwhile, police urged citizens to report any information related to food adulteration by dialling 100 or contacting Hyderabad City Police. They assured that they will keep the identity of informants confidential.
