HYDERABAD: A tragic road accident occurred near Turkapalli in Shamirpet mandal of Medchal district early on Tuesday morning. A speeding car lost control and crashed into the divider on the national highway before colliding with a DCM vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
Two people died on the spot while seven others sustained serious injuries in the collision. Upon receiving information, police arrived at the scene and carried out rescue operations. The injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment.
The deceased were identified as Raju from Vargal and Shravan from Muraripalli, both in Siddipet district. According to police, the car was travelling from Siddipet to Hyderabad when the accident took place. Six passengers were in the car at the time, while three others were in the DCM vehicle.
The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
