Shabbir, Ponnam pay rich tributes to martyred Greyhounds constable Sridhar

Hyderabad: Advisor to Telangana Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and other top leaders and officials paid rich tributes on Friday to martyred Greyhounds constable Vadla Sridhar, whose final rites were held with full police honours at Palwancha mandal headquarters in Kamareddy district.

Shabbir Ali and Ponnam Prabhakar announced a ₹2.17 crore compensation package for Sridhar’s family, which also includes a government job for a family member and a 300-square-yard residential plot.

The funeral was attended by Zahirabad MP Suresh Shetkar, Kamareddy Collector Ashish Sangwan, senior police officers, and a large gathering of local residents.

Greyhounds constable

Constable Sridhar was among three Greyhounds personnel killed in a landmine blast by Maoists in Mulugu on Thursday. Shabbir Ali and Ponnam personally consoled the bereaved family and laid floral tributes before his mortal remains.

Also present were Greyhounds Commander (Operations) Raghavender Reddy, SP Rajesh, OSD Dayanand, Additional SP Chaitanya Reddy, DSP Shankarayya, District Library Authority Chairman Maddi Chandrakant Reddy, Additional Collector (Revenue) V. Victor, and RDO Veena, alongside other police and revenue staff.
