Shabbir Ali awards degrees at Kamareddy event, stresses Congress push for education

Hyderabad: Telangana Government Advisor and senior Congress leader Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Saturday presented degree certificates at the graduation ceremony of RK Group of Colleges, held at Lakshmidevi Gardens in Kamareddy.

During the event, he also gave out cash awards to top-performing students and watched cultural programmes organised by the students.

In his address, Shabbir Ali underlined the Congress education focus in Telangana. He pointed out that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy retained the education portfolio to personally oversee progress in the sector.

He criticised the previous BRS government for neglecting students by halting scholarships and leaving ₹3,500 crore in unpaid fee reimbursement dues. In contrast, he said the Congress government is releasing the pending funds in phases.

Congress education focus

Shabbir Ali announced that Telangana is working to establish a first-of-its-kind sports university. He also revealed that integrated educational institutions are being constructed in every constituency, each on a 25-acre site.

He added that the Congress government has so far provided 60,000 jobs and sanctioned an engineering college to Telangana University since taking office.

Addressing the graduating students, Shabbir Ali urged them to aspire for top roles like IAS and IPS officers. He pledged to develop Kamareddy into a “study hub” to help local students achieve national and global recognition.
