Seethakka highlights Vemulawada temple development works

Hyderabad: Minister Seethakka on Friday said the state government is carrying out temple development works in line with devotees’ faith under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.

Earlier in the day, the Minister offered special prayers at the Vemulawada Sri Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple in Rajanna Sircilla district. Speaking to devotees, she said the government had therefore prioritised expansion works at temples with heavy pilgrim footfall.

Seethakka said the Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple expansion moved forward after Government Whip and Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas raised the issue with the Chief Minister. Subsequently, Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar, Sridhar Babu and Laxman Kumar supported the proposal. As a result, the Chief Minister and Ministers later attended the launch.

The Minister said the government is executing the expansion with an outlay of ₹150 crore. Consequently, the project aimed to provide better facilities and quicker darshan for devotees.

Medaram works progressing ahead of Jatara

Turning to Medaram, Seethakka said development and reconstruction works were progressing rapidly at the Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara site. She added that the government sanctioned over ₹200 crore for rebuilding the gaddelu and improving infrastructure.

According to her, the works followed tribal traditions and long-standing customs. Moreover, the projects were designed to last for generations and preserve the Jatara’s historical significance.

Seethakka announced that the Chief Minister and Ministers would visit Medaram on January 18. On the same day, she said, the Cabinet would meet there. Thereafter, on January 19, the Chief Minister and Ministers would inaugurate the Jatara-related works.

Meanwhile, the Minister said devotees traditionally visit Vemulawada before the Medaram Jatara. Therefore, she explained that her visit followed the same custom. She also welcomed MLAs from all parties and urged devotees to attend in large numbers.

Government Whip Aadi Srinivas said the ₹150-crore expansion of the Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple is progressing steadily. He added that the works focused on quicker darshan and improved amenities. At the same time, he said development works at Medaram were also nearing completion.
