Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Seethakka on Saturday accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of staging political drama in the name of Deeksha Diwas. She criticised the party for extending the event to 10 days. Originally, it was marked for only one day during its decade in power.
Speaking to reporters, Seethakka challenged the BRS to account for the development achieved during its 10-year rule. She said that in contrast, the Congress government introduced multiple welfare schemes within two years. Additionally, they secured investments and launched key infrastructure projects.

The Minister alleged that the extended campaign was aimed at diverting attention from Congress outreach programmes. She further claimed that the KCR family benefitted “hundreds of times” after Telangana achieved statehood.
Recalling a past legal case, Seethakka said the BRS government filed charges against her and fellow activists. Their demand was for COVID-19 treatment under the Aarogyasri scheme. She clarified that their protest was in the public interest and not politically motivated.
The case, currently under legal review, was argued by advocates Naguluri Krishna Kumar Goud, Narendra Kurma, and SS Rao. The court has posted the next hearing for December 18. Seethakka expressed confidence that justice would be served.
