Women empowerment thrust through SHG infrastructure
Addressing a public meeting, Seethakka said the government is moving ahead with the goal of strengthening women’s groups for Telangana’s progress. Under the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme, she said, women are entering various business sectors and increasing their income.
She noted that many self-help groups in villages face difficulty due to lack of permanent buildings. Therefore, the government sanctioned 42 such buildings for the district.
During the Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, officials allotted special stalls to women under the Mahila Shakti initiative. As a result, participants earned better returns.
The Minister said the government is extending interest-free loans to promote economic growth among women. It is also providing ₹10 lakh insurance cover if any member of senior women’s groups dies in an accident.
