Seethakka orders disciplinary action after five boys escape from Saidabad juvenile home

Hyderabad: Women and Child Welfare Minister D. Anasuya Seethakka ordered disciplinary action against staff following the escape of five minors from the Saidabad juvenile home on Tuesday night.

Two supervisors have been suspended, and a memo was issued to the superintendent, officials said. Seethakka directed the department to appoint additional personnel at the facility to prevent future breaches.

Juvenile Welfare Department officials submitted a detailed report to the minister during a review meeting at the Secretariat on Friday. Deputy Director Charvak and Assistant Chief Probation Supervisor Naveen briefed her on the sequence of events.

Three of the five boys have been traced, authorities told the minister. Efforts are ongoing with police support to locate the remaining two.
