Hyderabad: To handle increased passenger traffic during the Sankranti festival, South Central Railway (SCR) has announced 11 additional special trains. These trains will run from Hyderabad and other key stations. They will operate on various routes between January 7 and 12. This is to meet travel demand in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
According to a statement released by SCR, the special trains will run between Kakinada and Vikarabad, Vikarabad and Parvathipuram, Parvathipuram and Kakinada Town, and also between Secunderabad and Parvathipuram. These services are in addition to the previously announced holiday trains.

SCR stated that the special Sankranti trains will be equipped with First AC, Second AC, Third AC, sleeper class, and second class coaches. This is to accommodate different passenger needs. Bookings for all 11 trains have already opened. Passengers are advised to reserve seats at the earliest due to expected high demand.
The full schedule, coach composition, and timings for each train have been made available through official SCR communication channels. Officials urged passengers to check updated timetables. They should also verify platform information before travel.
These temporary services are part of SCR’s broader plan to manage the holiday season rush, especially on routes connecting Hyderabad to major towns in Andhra Pradesh. Similar arrangements have been made in previous years to address festival-related surges in passenger traffic.
