Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma hailed the SBI contribution Armed Forces Flag Day Fund after the bank’s Hyderabad Circle donated Rs.53 lakh on Thursday.
SBI Hyderabad Circle Chief General Manager S. Radha Krishnan presented the cheque to the Governor at Lok Bhavan. The Governor, who serves as Chairperson of the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, appreciated the gesture. He said the SBI contribution Armed Forces Flag Day Fund would motivate other organisations and citizens to extend similar support.
The contribution came from the staff of the State Bank of India, Hyderabad Circle. The Governor commended the bank’s continued support for the welfare of war veterans, ex-servicemen, war widows and their dependents. He described the initiative as noble and meaningful.

The cheque handover ceremony took place in the presence of senior officials. Sreenivasulu, Director, Sainik Welfare, attended the event along with officials from the Department of Sainik Welfare and SBI.
The Governor reiterated that such contributions strengthened welfare measures for defence personnel and their families. Moreover, he emphasised that public participation remained crucial for sustaining the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. He expressed hope that the SBI contribution Armed Forces Flag Day Fund would encourage broader institutional involvement across Telangana.
