Preparations for Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara 2026 reach final stage

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has entered the final phase of preparations for the Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara 2026. Authorities expect a turnout of around three crore devotees and are implementing a large-scale plan to ensure safety and convenience.

Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Seethakka is supervising operations from Medaram. She continues to inspect arrangements and coordinate departments for seamless execution.

Massive manpower and infrastructure mobilised

The state assigned 42,027 officials from 21 departments, along with 2,000 tribal volunteers. To maintain connectivity, teams installed 27 permanent towers, 33 temporary ones, and 450 VHF communication sets.

Officials divided Medaram into 8 zones and 42 sectors for crowd management. A district officer heads each zone, and a Mandal officer oversees each sector. Control rooms and emergency teams are stationed at key points like the temple, RTC bus stand, and Jampannavagu.

Road repairs at 525 locations and 42 parking zones across 1,418 acres aim to reduce congestion. The Forest and Tribal Welfare departments are managing the traffic coordination efforts.

Facilities enhanced for water, sanitation, and electricity

To meet water demand, authorities installed 5,482 taps. Near Jampanna Vagu, they built 119 dressing rooms and regularly chlorinate the stream. For sanitation, they constructed 5,700 toilets in 285 blocks and added mobile units. A crew of 5,000 workers is handling cleanliness with support from tankers, tractors, autos, and sweeping machines.

TGNPDCL laid 65.75 km of power lines, set up 196 transformers and 911 poles, and deployed 350 staff for maintenance. Additionally, 28 diesel generators and high-powered lights are ready to handle emergencies and illuminate the venue.

Transport, healthcare, and safety plans in place

TGRTC rolled out 4,000 buses to complete 51,000 trips. A team of 10,441 staff manages these operations. Buses depart every hour on special routes from designated stands.

To support public health, 5,192 medical personnel are on site. The setup includes 30 ambulances, 40 bike ambulances, a 50-bed hospital, and 30 daily camps. Rescue personnel at Jampanna Vagu include 210 swimmers, 12 Singareni teams, and 100 SDRF units. Fire emergencies will be handled by 15 fire engines and 268 firefighters.

The forest department is overseeing eco-protection and parking logistics. Meanwhile, ITDA has issued licenses to tribal vendors for selling goods like coconut and jaggery.

The Telangana government aims to elevate Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara 2026 to global recognition. Through coordinated efforts, it plans to provide fast darshan, safety, and a comfortable environment for all devotees.
