Hyderabad: Saifabad police rescued an eight-year-old girl who had gone missing near Lakdikapul Metro Station and reunited her with her parents within an hour.
The incident occurred on the night of June 2. Constable K. Vinay Kumar noticed the child crying alone near the metro station while travelling to duty.
After realising that the girl was lost, he brought her safely to the police station and informed Saifabad SHO A. Seethaiah.
Saifabad police trace girl’s family
During questioning, the girl identified herself as Manvi, aged eight, and said her father was Rajesh Kumar. She also told police that her family lived in Manger Basti under the Habib Nagar area.
Following the SHO’s instructions, constables K. Vinay Kumar and Jagadeesh immediately launched a search. They located the family’s residence in Manger Basti and contacted the girl’s father.
Police later called Rajesh Kumar to the station and handed over the child in the presence of the SHO.
The girl’s parents thanked the police for tracing and rescuing their daughter from a busy area like Lakdikapul within a short time.
Senior police officials appreciated the personnel for their prompt response and efforts in ensuring the child’s safety.
