HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy will inaugurate the Young India Police School on Thursday, 10 April. The school, modelled on the Union government’s Sainik School concept, is aimed at providing quality education to the children of police personnel.
According to sources, the inauguration will take place at 9:45 AM in Manchirevula, Ranga Reddy district. The event will also be attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and several state ministers.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand praised the Telangana government’s initiative, describing the establishment of the school as a commendable step for the welfare of police families. In a video message, he highlighted the challenges police personnel face in balancing professional responsibilities with family life, noting that they often spend limited time with their families due to the demands of duty.
To address this, the government has set up a dedicated school for their children. CV Anand explained that 50 percent of admissions at the Young India Police School are reserved for the children of police personnel—from home guards and constables to IPS rank officers—including children of those who died in the line of duty. The remaining 50 percent of seats will be open to the general public.
He added that the school will offer education at affordable fees and will follow the CBSE curriculum, ensuring international standards in academics. The institution will also provide sports and additional training facilities as part of a holistic development model.
