Revanth Reddy invites Osaka investors to partner in Telangana’s growth story

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday invited business leaders from the Osaka Chambers of Commerce to explore investment opportunities in Telangana, during a high-profile engagement at the Osaka Expo 2025.

Leading the TelanganaRising delegation, the Chief Minister presented a strong case for investing in the state’s key sectors, including the circular economy, urban infrastructure, environmental restoration, River Musi rejuvenation, Regional Ring Road and Radial Roads, expansion of Hyderabad Metro Rail, and the ambitious Future City project. He also highlighted sectors such as software, AI, pharmaceuticals, tourism, textiles, agriculture, and green energy.

Addressing the gathering of Osaka’s top business leaders, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said, “KonniChiwa. Namaskaram. I am delighted to be in Osaka, where tradition meets the future, to attend the World Expo. We are the first Indian state here, representing my great country, India.”

He urged Japanese investors to build long-term partnerships, stating, “Let us build partnerships that will empower people, inspire innovation, and shape the future. Telangana offers policy stability, high ease of doing business, and world-class infrastructure. Many Japanese firms are already thriving in our state. We invite many more to join us.”

Highlighting Hyderabad’s strategic position, Reddy said it could serve as a manufacturing and export hub for the Indian and global markets.

Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu added that Telangana offers single-window approvals, customised incentives, and a business-friendly government that goes the extra mile. He emphasised Hyderabad’s role as a global hub for IT and life sciences and underlined emerging opportunities in aerospace, defence, electronics, and textiles.

The Minister also detailed the Future City project — India’s first net-zero industrial city spanning 30,000 acres, being developed in collaboration with Japan’s Marubeni Corporation. He said the zone between the Outer and Regional Ring Roads is ideal for EVs, energy storage, semiconductors, and aerospace, supported by a planned dry port linked via dedicated road and rail to the nearest seaport.

He cited inspiration from Japanese cities like Osaka and Tokyo in the proposed transformation of the Musi River into a 55-km urban greenway.

Special Chief Secretary for Industries Jayesh Ranjan made a detailed presentation outlining the state’s upcoming Young India Skills University, which aims to foster quality, discipline, and lifelong learning, while generating new business opportunities.

Closing the interaction, Chief Minister Reddy said, “Telangana and Japan share a deep connection. Like the sun rising over Osaka Bay, a new chapter is rising in Telangana. Together, let us build something timeless — for Osaka, for Telangana, for the world.”

The delegation also held one-on-one meetings with several major Japanese corporations. Earlier, Telangana became the first Indian state to launch its presence at the Osaka Expo, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy — the first-ever Telangana CM to visit Japan — unveiling the Telangana zone in the Bharat Pavilion.
