Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy left for Delhi from Shamshabad airport on Monday morning for a two-day Revanth Reddy Delhi tour covering political and administrative engagements.
During the visit, Revanth Reddy will attend a conclave organised by a television and newspaper group from Assam at 5.30 pm on Monday. On Tuesday, he will attend the Congress Working Committee meeting.
The CWC meeting comes amid the ongoing debate over the Election Commission’s functioning and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. According to party sources, Congress leaders will discuss objections raised over the Election Commission’s functioning.
Revanth Reddy Delhi tour focuses on CWC strategy
At the CWC meeting, Congress leaders are expected to discuss the party’s strategy on the Chief Election Commissioner. They will also discuss the current political situation and issues linked to upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy is likely to meet senior AICC leaders during his Revanth Reddy Delhi tour. The discussions may cover recent developments in Telangana Congress and the government’s performance.
The Chief Minister is also expected to brief party leaders on welfare and development programmes in the state. In addition, the meetings may cover the filling of nominated posts and a possible Cabinet expansion.
Party leaders may also discuss candidates for graduate MLC elections. As a result, the Delhi visit has generated interest among Congress leaders seeking party and nominated positions.
CM likely to meet Union ministers
Revanth Reddy will also focus on Telangana’s welfare and development needs during the visit. For this, he may meet several Union ministers to discuss pending issues concerning the state.
The discussions may cover pending funds, bifurcation commitments and approvals for various projects. The Chief Minister is expected to raise these matters during his meetings in Delhi.
