Retired employees try to lay siege to Telangana Assembly over dues

Hyderabad: Tension broke out near the Telangana Assembly on Monday after retired employees tried to lay siege to the legislature, demanding immediate payment of their pending dues.

As Assembly sessions were in progress, several groups attempted to draw attention to their issues by moving towards the Assembly. As part of this, retired employees staged a protest, alleging that the government has not cleared pending DA and other dues payable from 2024 onwards.

The protesters said the delay in releasing DA and old arrears has put pensioners under financial strain. They accused the government of ignoring their long-pending demands. Therefore, they urged the authorities to act without delay and release all pending payments.

During the protest, pensioners raised slogans accusing the government of neglecting their issues. They demanded justice and warned of further protests if the government failed to respond. As a result, tension prevailed briefly in the Assembly area before police brought the situation under control.
