Ranga Reddy district allots 249 liquor shops through transparent lottery

Hyderabad: Ranga Reddy District Collector C. Narayana Reddy announced that the district completed the allotment of 249 A4 liquor shops through a transparent lottery system for 2025–2027. He said the exercise strictly followed the Telangana Government’s guidelines to ensure fairness and integrity.

The selection event took place on Monday at Mallika Convention Hall in Shamshabad. Moreover, the Collector attended as chief guest and personally supervised the lottery for 138 liquor shops under the Saroornagar excise unit. Meanwhile, Additional Collector Srinivas conducted the lottery for 111 shops under the Shamshabad excise unit.

The Collector explained that every stage of the process maintained full transparency. Therefore, the district administration ensured that both officials and applicants could witness the entire draw. He said the district included two excise units Saroornagar and Shamshabad with a total of 249 A4 liquor outlets.

The Saroornagar unit received 7,845 applications, while the Shamshabad unit received 8,536 applications. Consequently, competition remained intense across both units. He added that officials verified the procedure carefully and conducted the draw in the presence of all participants. “We followed government orders strictly to keep the process clean and transparent,” Narayana Reddy said.

In addition, Excise Officers Ujwala Reddy and Krishnapriya monitored the Saroornagar and Shamshabad lotteries respectively to ensure fairness and accuracy throughout the selection. Finally, the Collector appreciated the excise staff for completing the process without any technical or procedural issues.
