HYDERABAD: “I will not beg for a ministerial post,” declared Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, launching a sharp attack against internal Congress leadership during a swearing-in ceremony for the Choutuppal Agricultural Market Committee.
Speaking at the event, Rajagopal Reddy said that the Congress party had promised him a ministerial role, but accused certain party members of engaging in political manoeuvring to block it. He alleged that senior leader Jana Reddy was playing the role of Dhritarashtra, suggesting blind bias in favour of select leaders.
“I have never been in a position where I needed to beg. A ministerial post cannot be obtained by pleading,” he stated firmly. Criticising Jana Reddy’s long-standing hold on power, he remarked, “You were a minister for 30 years. Is it only now that you remember the need to give a post to someone from Ranga Reddy or Hyderabad?”
Rajagopal Reddy’s remarks have stirred fresh debate within the party, highlighting ongoing discontent over cabinet appointments. His comments reflect growing friction between senior leadership and emerging voices within Telangana Congress ranks.
