Hyderabad: BC JAC president and MP R Krishnaiah said backward classes had suffered injustice for decades and vowed to make them strong enough to earn equal respect. Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan on Thursday, he said courts repeatedly denied justice to BCs. Therefore, he promised to continue the struggle until equality became reality.
He announced that the BC JAC would organise a statewide Telangana bandh on October 18 to demand 42 per cent BC reservations. Moreover, he urged people to participate peacefully and ensure the protest’s success.

Krishnaiah urged traders to close all shops, except medical stores, during the bandh. He also warned that RTC buses must not run, as public anger could spark violence. Furthermore, he said this bandh would be historic and unmatched in the state’s history. He added that the agitation would continue until BCs gained complete justice.
Congress extends full support to the BC bandh
TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud said the Congress Party supported the bandh called by BC JAC. He reaffirmed that the party remained fully committed to granting 42 per cent BC reservations. In addition, he said all Congress leaders would join the protest and stand with the BC community until justice prevailed.
