R Krishnaiah demands release of fee reimbursement dues

Hyderabad: MP R Krishnaiah demanded the immediate release of fee reimbursement dues for students and criticised the state government during a protest held in Hyderabad.

Students staged the demonstration in front of the Hyderabad Collectorate at Lakdikapul. BC Students’ Association leader Pagilla Satish organised the protest demanding payment of pending student fees.

Speaking at the event, Krishnaiah said the government had failed to release fee reimbursement dues, causing hardship for students from poor communities.

He alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was not supportive of students from backward communities pursuing higher education.

Krishnaiah said the government was clearing bills worth thousands of crores for contractors. However, it was delaying the release of fee reimbursement dues for students.

Fee reimbursement dues protest raises BC representation concerns

Krishnaiah also criticised the lack of representation for backward classes in the government.

He said backward class leaders had been treated unfairly in the state cabinet. He added that it was unfortunate that BC leaders were not given representation even in the Rajya Sabha.

The MP urged the Chief Minister to immediately release the fee dues pending for students.

He warned that if the government failed to act, students across the state could launch a large-scale agitation similar to the Telangana movement.

National BC Welfare Association Working President Arun Kumar, Telangana Unemployed JAC chairman Neela Venkatesh and BC Aikyavedika president Ananthayya participated in the protest.

A large number of students also attended the demonstration.
