Private bus gutted in Medchal, driver blames short circuit

Hyderabad: A private bus went up in flames near the ITI junction in Medchal on Thursday. The vehicle, headed from Banda Mailaram to Kompally, caught fire mid-route.

Flames broke out suddenly. The driver pulled over. No passengers inside. Within minutes, the entire bus was a wreck—charred metal, smoke curling up, nothing salvageable.

Police said the bus caught fire near the Medchal police station limits. The driver acted quickly, parking it to the side. A few seconds more and he might not have made it out.

He told police the fire likely started from a short circuit. No confirmation yet. Just scorched road and a burnt-out chassis.

Fire brigade reached fast, doused the flames. Nothing left to save. But no one hurt.
