Pregnant woman killed in Attapur accident caused by parked car door

Hyderabad: A pregnant woman died on the spot in a road accident at Attapur on Thursday, after being struck by a bus due to the negligence of a car driver who had parked carelessly on the highway.

The incident occurred near Pillar No. 198 under the jurisdiction of Attapur Police Station. The deceased was identified as Syed Ashra. According to police and eyewitness accounts, the driver of a car parked the vehicle improperly and left the door open on the busy highway. As Ashra walked past the vehicle, she was hit by an RTC bus and crushed under its wheels.

She died instantly at the scene. Locals stated that the car’s reckless parking and open door were directly responsible for the incident. The driver reportedly fled the spot immediately after the accident.

Upon receiving information, police reached the location and shifted the body to Osmania Hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.

Local residents have expressed outrage, blaming the accident on habitual illegal parking on service roads. They demanded strict action against the car driver, holding him responsible for the death.
