Praja Vani expansion planned to revenue divisions in Telangana

Hyderabad: A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday directed officials to prepare an action plan to expand the Praja Vani programme to the revenue division level for faster grievance redressal.

The Chief Minister issued the instructions during a meeting held at the Legislative Council Hall. A delegation led by social activist Nikhil Dey met him and discussed measures related to the Praja Vani programme and public grievance mechanisms.

During the interaction, the delegation appreciated the government’s initiatives aimed at resolving public issues. In particular, they commended the Praja Vani programme currently being implemented at the state level.

Praja Vani programme expansion plan discussed

The meeting focused on extending the Praja Vani programme to the revenue division level. The Chief Minister asked officials to take necessary steps to operationalise this expansion.

Additionally, discussions were held on establishing a ‘Praja Suchana Portal’ in Telangana. The proposal drew inspiration from the ‘Jan Suchna Portal’ implemented by the Rajasthan government.

Officials said the proposed portal would provide information on all government schemes under various departments in a single platform. The Chief Minister directed the IT department to develop the system to improve accessibility and transparency.

Praja Vani programme linked governance initiatives

During the meeting, Nikhil Dey also praised the Telangana Gig Workers Bill. He said the legislation would stand as a landmark initiative in the country.

Senior officials, including Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao, attended the meeting. Telangana Planning Commission Vice Chairman Chinnareddy and other senior officers were also present.

The Chief Minister emphasised that strengthening the Praja Vani programme would enhance governance and ensure timely resolution of public grievances across Telangana.
