Hyderabad: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar on Tuesday offered Uttara Dwara Darshan with his family at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Himayatnagar on Vaikuntha Ekadashi. The significance of Vaikuntha Ekadashi in Telangana was evident from the large number of attendees.
Devotees gathered from the early hours at the Himayatnagar temple. They queued up to enter through the Uttara Dwaram. After darshan, the Minister performed special prayers, temple officials said. Throughout Telangana, the day of Vaikuntha Ekadashi saw heightened spiritual activity.
Meanwhile, Vaishnav temples across Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana reported a steady flow of devotees throughout the day, reflecting the importance of Vaikuntha Ekadashi in Telangana.

At the same time, large crowds thronged the Sri Padmavati Sametha Venkateswara Swamy temple in Vanasthalipuram. Officials regulated darshan to prevent congestion.
Similarly, major pilgrimage centres such as Yadagirigutta and Bhadrachalam saw heavy turnout. The Warasiguda Kalyana Venkateswara Swamy temple and several shrines in Nizamabad district also remained crowded.
Devotees believe Uttara Dwara Darshan on Vaikuntha Ekadashi grants salvation, a belief strongly held in Telangana. Therefore, thousands visited temples with faith and devotion.
To manage the rush, temple administrations made special arrangements. They deployed staff for queue management, security and basic amenities. Officials said these measures ensured smooth darshan for devotees.
