Hyderabad: Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said the government remained committed to temple development and spiritual growth. He said religious centres would continue to receive priority support.
On Friday night, Ponnam Prabhakar attended the Mandala Puja Mahotsavam held with grandeur at the Ayyappa Swamy temple atop Siddheshwara Gutta in Husnabad. During the visit, he took part as chief guest and performed special prayers.
Meanwhile, Vedic scholar Venkateshwara Sharma led the Mandala Puja rituals as per tradition. Priests conducted abhishekams and special archana to the deity. Later, the minister offered prayers and fulfilled his vows at the shrine.
Ponnam Prabhakar highlights temple development at Husnabad
During the programme, devotees welcomed Ponnam Prabhakar’s participation in the ‘Petathulli’ bhajana dance. As a result, his devotional act drew wide attention from those present. He later interacted with devotees in the temple premises.
Subsequently, devotees requested a community hall for pilgrim convenience. In response, Ponnam Prabhakar agreed to the proposal. He announced immediate sanction of funds for the building. Soon after, he broke a coconut and laid the foundation stone.
The minister said devotion and discipline must guide temple-related matters. He also said the Husnabad region should grow spiritually. Finally, Ponnam Prabhakar assured development of all temples in the constituency and wished divine blessings for the people.
