Ponnam Prabhakar promotes awareness of Bhoo Bharati Act in Saidapur

HYDERABAD: An awareness seminar on the Bhoo Bharati Act was held in Saidapur, Karimnagar district, on Tuesday, with Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and senior officials in attendance.

Addressing the gathering, Ponnam Prabhakar stated that the introduction of the Bhoo Bharati Act was a fulfilment of the government’s promise to overhaul the land and revenue system. He accused the previous administration of paralysing the revenue framework, leading to widespread confusion regarding land ownership and transactions.

The Minister explained that, under the new system, village-level officers have been specially appointed to manage land records, oversee sales and purchases, and streamline the broader revenue administration. These reforms, he said, are aimed at ensuring transparency and restoring public confidence in land governance.

Prabhakar urged citizens to come forward and report any illegal encroachments, especially those involving endowment or Shikam lands, directly to the authorities.

He also highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure smooth paddy procurement, assuring farmers that timely payments and necessary support are being prioritised.
