Hyderabad: To ensure law and order ahead of the Ganesh idol immersion, East Zone DCP Dr. B. Balaswamy led a police flag march through key areas of Hyderabad on Wednesday.
300 armed personnel participate in East Zone flag march
The flag march began at Afzalgunj and passed through Mozamjahi Market and other major thoroughfares. Around 300 armed police personnel participated, supported by additional forces from various units.
DCP Balaswamy said the primary objective was to reassure the public and demonstrate the police’s readiness to handle any situation. He emphasised that public safety remained the top priority.
Over 1,000 personnel deployed for Ganesh immersion security
The DCP warned that strict action would be taken against any attempt to disrupt peace. In total, security arrangements for the Ganesh immersion involve more than 1,000 personnel across multiple units.
Senior officers including Additional DCP J. Narasaiyya, ACP M. Mattayya, Kachiguda ACP Harish Kumar, CIs T. Jyotsna (Kachiguda), Anand Rao (Keesara), and SHOs from Narayanaguda, Sultan Bazaar, and Afzalgunj participated in the flag march. Sub-inspectors Naresh, Krishnaveni, Bharat, Srikanth, Sai Ganesh, and Sahid Ali were also part of the contingent.
