Hyderabad: Police have arrested four youths in Secunderabad after a minor girl from Sangareddy reported sexual assault, leading to the registration of a POCSO case. The incident came to light on Wednesday during the ongoing investigation into the girl’s disappearance.
According to police, the 13‑year‑old left her home on December 4 without informing her family. Her mother lodged a complaint, prompting police to begin a search. Officers later located the girl in Secunderabad on December 8.
Police book two juveniles under POCSO Act
Police said two 17‑year‑olds and two 19‑year‑olds approached the girl, spoke to her, and took her to a lodge where the assault occurred. Officers took all four youths into custody. They booked the two minors under the POCSO Act and produced them before the court, which remanded them to judicial custody.
During questioning, the girl stated that she had accompanied them voluntarily, police said.
Girl sent for counselling after rescue
Authorities have arranged counselling for the girl as part of the protection protocol. She will be shifted to a government home following the sessions.
