Orphaned brothers taken in by neighbours after parents, grandfather die

Hyderabad: Two young boys in Gattikal village of Atmakur (S) mandal, Suryapet district, were left orphaned after the death of their parents and grandfather in a series of tragedies.

According to local sources, Marapaka Ramulu and Lakshmi had two sons. Lakshmi died in 2022 after battling a brain tumour, leaving Ramulu to raise the children on his own while working as a labourer.

Four days ago, Ramulu’s father passed away. Before the family could recover, Ramulu himself died two days later in a road accident.

With no relatives able to take charge, a neighbouring couple, Ramesh, an RTC driver, and his wife stepped in to look after the children.

The elder boy, Shiva, is studying in class six, while his younger brother Sai attends an Anganwadi school.

Ramesh and his wife appealed to the public and government to extend support for the care and education of two orphaned brothers.
