Hyderabad, January 24: Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy accused opposition parties of indulging in petty politics regarding the distribution of ration cards in the state.
Speaking at the Jan Pahad Dargah in Huzurnagar’s Palakeedu mandal on Friday, Minister Uttam alleged that the BRS party was spreading false propaganda as they were unable to tolerate the Congress government’s commitment to supporting the poor. He criticised the BRS, stating that during its decade-long rule, the party had displayed negligence in issuing new white ration cards. “They lack the moral right to criticise the Congress government, which is now working to provide ration cards to all eligible individuals,” he said.
The minister reiterated that the Congress government was fully committed to issue ration cards to the last eligible person. He assured that there was no scope for misinformation or confusion in the process, dismissing opposition claims as baseless. He said that the issuing of ration cards was a continuous process and would not stop until each and every beneficiary received one. (eom)
