NTR’s name is a symbol of hope for the poor, says CM Naidu at Mahanadu

Hyderabad: On the second day of the Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) annual Mahanadu convention, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu paid rich tributes to party founder and former Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), calling him a symbol of hope for the poor and a true ally of farmers.

The day began with fervour as party leaders gathered to mark NTR’s birth anniversary. A floral tribute was offered at his statue erected on the Mahanadu stage, with Naidu and senior party figures leading the homage.

Addressing the gathering, Naidu said that the previous day’s sessions were dedicated to strengthening the party and discussing welfare initiatives. Reflecting on NTR’s legacy, he described him as the beloved leader of the Telugu people, whose birthday is celebrated like a festival across Andhra Pradesh.

“It’s rare in history to find someone who conquers both cinema and politics with such grace and impact,” Naidu remarked. “For the poor, NTR’s name evokes hope. For farmers, he was more than a leader—he was a companion in their struggle.”

Naidu’s remarks echoed throughout the convention, as party members reiterated their commitment to NTR’s vision of social justice and upliftment.
