Hyderabad: Telangana sports minister Vakiti Srihari praised Nikhat Zareen on Tuesday and reaffirmed that the state would provide every facility required for athletes under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership. He said the government remained committed to supporting sportspersons across disciplines.
Zareen met the minister after her commanding 5-0 victory over Gao Yi Hsuan of Chinese Taipei in the women’s 51 kg final at the World Cup Boxing Finals in Greater Noida. The minister honoured her with a shawl and offered special congratulations for her dominant performance.

The meeting came a day after Nikhat Zareen returned from the tournament, where she maintained complete control throughout the bout. Officials noted that her form this season strengthened Telangana’s standing in the national boxing circuit.
Zareen expressed gratitude for the recognition. Her latest title added to her growing career achievements and reinforced her status as one of Telangana’s most successful boxers.
