Hyderabad: Commuters using Lakdikapul Road will have to brace for nighttime diversions over the next month, as Hyderabad Traffic Police imposes restrictions to facilitate the construction of a stormwater drain at Lakdikapul junction. The curbs, which take effect from Wednesday night, will remain in place daily from 11 pm to 5 am.
The construction covers a stretch of 180 metres, beginning from the Intelligence Office and running up to Dwaraka Hotel, passing along prominent landmarks such as Lucky Restaurant and Venkateshwara Hotel near the Old PS Saifabad Junction.
To manage traffic flow during the restricted hours, diversions have been put in place. Vehicles heading from Nirankari towards Iqbal Minar will be rerouted via Ravindra Bharathi. Similarly, traffic coming from Ravindra Bharathi towards Old PS Saifabad will have to turn at Iqbal Minar towards Secretariat Junction. Traffic from Secretariat Junction towards Old PS Saifabad will also be diverted at Iqbal Minar and redirected via Ravindra Bharathi.
The traffic police have urged motorists to use alternative routes during the night curfew hours and have requested the public’s cooperation in following the diversions to avoid inconvenience.
