New Year restrictions imposed on construction vehicles in Cyberabad

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police on Monday ordered a late-night ban on construction and debris vehicles as part of New Year safety measures.

Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty issued the order ahead of New Year celebrations. He invoked powers under the Cyberabad City Police Act and the Hyderabad City Police Act to ensure public safety.

As per the notification, police barred all construction and debris transportation vehicles within Cyberabad limits inside the Outer Ring Road. The restriction will remain in force from 10.30 pm to 2 am.

New Year restrictions apply only on intervening night

The Commissioner clarified that the New Year restrictions apply only on the intervening night of December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026. Therefore, police will allow regular vehicle movement after the stipulated hours.

Officials said the measure aims to prevent traffic congestion during celebrations. It also seeks to reduce safety risks, as large crowds are expected across Cyberabad areas. Accordingly, police urged transporters and contractors to plan vehicle movement in advance.

Cyberabad police said they will deploy additional personnel to enforce the restrictions. Teams will monitor key stretches to ensure smooth conduct of New Year celebrations.
