Chain snatching incident reported in Nalgonda district

Hyderabad: A fresh Nalgonda chain snatching case was reported from Nakrekal town. This happened after unidentified assailants robbed a woman of her gold chain and escaped, police said on Sunday.

According to preliminary information, the incident occurred near the Reliance Trends outlet on Musi Road in Nakrekal. The victim was walking along the road when the assailants intercepted her. They forcibly snatched a gold chain weighing about 3 tolas from her neck before fleeing the spot.

The victim later approached the police and lodged a complaint. Based on her statement, the police registered a case and launched an investigation into the Nalgonda chain snatching incident.

Local residents said such crimes were increasing in the area and were causing fear among women and older people. They urged the authorities to step up night patrolling and surveillance to prevent further incidents.

Nalgonda chain snatching raises security concerns in Nakrekal

Police officials said teams were examining CCTV footage from nearby establishments and checking possible escape routes used by the offenders. The Telangana Police assured residents that additional patrols would be deployed in vulnerable locations.

Meanwhile, residents demanded stronger preventive measures, including regular vehicle checks and police presence in crowded market areas. These measures would help curb chain snatching and other street crimes in Nakrekal.
