MP Kiran Kumar Reddy demands wider debate in Parliament winter session

Hyderabad: MP Kiran Kumar Reddy criticised the decision to limit the winter session to 15 days when the country continued to face unresolved challenges. Speaking in Delhi before attending the session, he said Parliament must give priority to a detailed debate on national security. He questioned the Union Home Ministry’s response to the bomb threat near the Red Fort and accused the Centre of failing to address serious security concerns.

He alleged that the SIR initiative threatened citizens’ voting rights. The MP pressed for a focused discussion on the security of people and the security of democracy without delay.

MP Kiran Kumar Reddy seeks debate on pollution and pending funds

MP Kiran Kumar Reddy said the winter session must examine health security in the national capital. He noted that Delhi recorded an AQI of 272 when he arrived, while levels had crossed 390 the previous week. According to him, pollution in major cities had become alarming and required urgent national attention.

He urged the Centre to release pending funds owed to Telangana and asked for discussion on long-delayed projects. The MP accused the Union Government of favouring select states, leaving others waiting for essential financial support. He added that Telangana had not received any funds from the Centre since the current state government took office.

The MP criticised the Centre for denying compensation to farmers who lost their crops. He said the NDA and BJP governments were turning the winter session into a token exercise instead of addressing public concerns. He added that opposition MPs would work collectively to question the government throughout the session.
