HYDERABAD: A tragic accident in Balanagar, Hyderabad, has left the locality in mourning after a motorcyclist was killed when he came under an RTC bus.
According to reports, traffic police attempted to stop the two-wheeler during routine checks to issue a challan. In the process, the motorcyclist reportedly lost control and fell. At that moment, an RTC bus approaching from the same direction ran over his head, killing him instantly.
The incident sparked outrage among local motorists, who alleged that the man died due to the negligence of traffic police. Eyewitnesses claimed that police had tried to forcibly seize the motorcycle keys, which led to the rider losing balance and falling under the bus.
Following the incident, fellow motorists and the deceased’s relatives staged a protest on the road, confronting the police over their actions. The protest led to a massive traffic jam on the Narsapur route, with vehicles backed up from Jeedimetla to Balanagar.
Police eventually dispersed the protestors and cleared the road, but tensions remained high in the area.
